About Isiqalo Primary School
A small, non-profit school that puts the child first.
Who we are
Isiqalo Primary School is a GDE-approved independent school run by a non-profit organisation (NPO 288-343, EMIS 700401256). We teach learners from Grade R to Grade 8 at 55 Beaconsfield Avenue, Vereeniging.
Isiqalo means "the beginning". Our aim is to give each child a strong beginning: good teaching, good character, and a school where they feel safe and respected.
What we believe
- Love. Every child is cared for and treated with kindness.
- Respect. Learners, parents and educators respect each other and the school.
- Excellence. We expect learners to do their best and we help them get there.
"Knowledge is Power." Good character is how we use it.
How we teach
We follow the national CAPS curriculum. The language of teaching and learning is English, and learners are supported in learning other South African languages.
How we run the school
The school is led by the Principal, Dr Nilford Hove, and governed by a Board of Governors. Our admission rules, learner code of conduct and fees are written down and available to every family. See our policies.
